Bayless’s philanthropic work includes the Frontera Farmer Foundation, established in 2003 to support small Midwestern farms, which has awarded nearly $2 million in grants. In 2007, he launched the Frontera Scholarship for Mexican-American students to study culinary arts. That same year, he was named Humanitarian of the Year by the International Association of Culinary Professionals.
