Join us during the month of August as we participate in the Jacques Pépin 90/90 Fundraiser. For the entirety of this month, Cúrate Bar de Tapas will be offering both a tapa and dessert option on our main menu inspired by the culinary excellence of Jacques Pepín, with $5 from the sale of each dish donated in support of the foundation’s free culinary and life skills training programs. Simply dine with us at Cúrate any day of August service to enjoy this specialty offering!

- Cúrate is currently open Tuesday-Saturday from 11:00am-10:30pm, and Sundays from 11:00am-9:30pm. We are closed on Mondays.

- Diners that would like to participate and contribute to this fundraiser are welcome to join us during our normal service hours of Tuesday-Saturday from 11:00am-10:30pm, and Sundays from 11:00am-9:30pm. We accept both reservations and walk-ins during these hours. No special reservation or ticket is required!
- Thanks to the generosity of the participating event host, a portion of the evening's proceeds will be donated to the Jacques Pépin Foundation to support our mission of expanding access to culinary education. We deeply appreciate your generous support.

Katie Button
Co-Founder, Chef, and Chief Brand Officer, Cúrate Bar de Tapas
Chef Katie Button is a five‑time James Beard Foundation Award nominee, cookbook author, media personality, and co-founder of Asheville’s Cúrate Bar de Tapas and Cúrate’s online marketplace, wine club, and travel program.
After earning a Master’s in biomedical engineering, Katie shifted her focus to her lifelong passion for food and travel, going on to train under Ferran Adrià and José Andrés. In 2012, she opened Cúrate Bar de Tapas, which won the 2022 James Beard Award for Outstanding Hospitality. Under her leadership, the restaurant group has expanded to include Cúrate at Home, Cúrate Trips, Cúrate Wine Club, and Events by Cúrate. Katie also served as the host of Magnolia Network’s From The Source and champions sustainable, equitable work environments through her living wage‑certified restaurants.

Felix Meana
Co-Founder and Chief Experience Office, Cúrate Bar de Tapas
Felix Meana is the co-founder and Chief Experience Officer of the Button Meana Group, parent company of the James Beard Award-winning Cúrate Bar de Tapas and its sister brands.
A native of Roses, Spain, Felix began his hospitality career in 1994, later becoming front of house service manager at elBulli, where he helped deliver world-renowned service during its peak years. He continued honing his craft at top restaurants including La Terraza del Casino in Madrid and José Andrés’ ThinkFoodGroup, where he met Chef Katie Button. Together, they founded Cúrate in Asheville, N.C.
Felix now resides in Asheville and leads guest experience across the company’s restaurants, travel programs, and e-commerce platforms, blending deep hospitality expertise with a passion for creating unforgettable moments.

Ángel Palacios
Executive Chef, Cúrate Bar de Tapas
Ángel joins Cúrate Tapas Bar from Barcelona, bringing decades of decorated experience with traditional Spanish cooking and modern technique.
His role leading Michelin-starred kitchens — from serving as Executive Chef and General Manager of Restaurant La Broche (Madrid and Miami), to Chef de Partie at three-starred Martín Berasategui and Katie and Felix’s own accoladed culinary alma mater, Elbulli — has gleaned countless awards and mentions, including inclusion as a Food & Wine Best New Chef.
Once a professor at Basque Culinary Center University, Ángel is a natural teacher, and leads the Cúrate kitchen with dedication and care, sharing his knowledge, refining techniques, and grounding the restaurant’s menu in Spanish tradition.
