In 2018 Jess was one of Food and Wine’s Best New Chefs. King gained a two-star review from Pete Well’s in The New York Times later that year.

After leading restaurants on the East Coast and in San Francisco, he joined Hog Island Oyster Co. in 2014, creating a sustainable sourcing plan. Now Director of Training and Culinary Operations at The Key Room, he blends leadership, learning, and exceptional food.

Alon Shaya

Alon Shaya, born in Israel and raised in Philadelphia, discovered his love for food cooking alongside his mother and grandmother. A Culinary Institute of America graduate, he began his career in Las Vegas before cooking in St. Louis, Italy, and settling in New Orleans in 2001. Since then, he has been honored with five James Beard nominations.

James Beard Award-winning Chef Chris Shepherd changed Houston’s culinary scene with Underbelly in 2012. Named a Best New Chef by Food & Wine in 2013, he won Best Chef: Southwest in 2014. His 2019 cookbook was a Beard Award nominee. In 2023, his TV show Eat Like a Local won a Lone Star Emmy in 2024.
